Griffen Mill's archival handmade paper is made in the traditional European manner from different blends of cotton, linen & hemp fibers and is specifically designed to meet the needs of bookbinders & paper conservators. The range includes laid & wove papers with different characteristics.
BOOKBINDING PAPERS are made in several weights and can be handled easily when damp. All papers
are internally buffered & neutrally sized to give a pH reading of between 7.3 - 8.4. Weights range from 55gsm to 150 gsm.
ARCHIVAL TISSUE PAPER. The tissues have a good wet strength, are internally buffered & neutrally sized to give a pH reading of between 7.3 - 8.4. Shown is a thin crisp tissue but also very popular is a soft ,bulky,long fibered jute tissue which can be moulded to repair bumped corners & spines.
GELATINE SIZED LEDGER PAPER. This is a hard white,gelatine sized laid paper with a smooth surface (CP).Like the other Griffen Mill papers it is internally buffered & neutrally sized. Bookbinders may find it useful as replacement semi glazed endpapers for Victorian bindings. Weight 120 gms. Imperial .
